* A rescan will be booked for you with your blood test if you are less than 6 weeks pregnant. If you have a rescan and no blood test, the original charge of £129 will be refunded to you. A £15 additional charge will be applied to the second blood test attempt which is non-refundable.

** An early scan is recommended to ensure that you are at least 6 weeks pregnant. In the event that you are less than 6 weeks pregnant there are lower levels are accuracy.

Our non-invasive gender blood tests determines the sex of your baby before the traditional 18 week scan. The blood test, taken from the expecting mother analyses cell free DNA circulating the blood stream.

Y Chromosomes are present in Males whereas X Chromosomes are present in Females.

The early gender blood test specifically looks for Y chromosomes, if these are present in the mother's blood it indicates a boy is expected. If no Y chromosomes are detected it suggests a girl. The results are 99.9% accurate if performed after 6 weeks gestational.

This test solely determines the sex of the baby; health and weight of the foetus are not examined during an early gender test.

A test process called non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) is used to analyze cell-free fetal DNA. Starting with a small sample of your blood, plasma is separated from whole blood by centrifuge, and extracted cell-free fetal DNA (cffDNA) is analyzed for Y chromosomes, which are found only in males. The test is sensitive enough to find even a single Y chromosome, giving you confidence in your results.
