- Veracity: This allows for the testing of genetic conditions that your baby may have inherited before birth. It detects the most common fetal conditions such as Edwards Syndrome, Down Syndrome and Patau Syndrome, providing 99.9% accuracy of results. This test can also determine gender if required.
- VERAgene: This NIPT Test is designed to test for genetic conditions that can have a significant impact of your baby’s quality of life once born. This test can be done before and during pregnancy, giving insight into your own genetics and those that your baby may inherit. This NIPT Test is for both mum and dad to get a comprehensive and detailed look at baby.
Early Gender Blood Tests from Peek A Baby
The third available genetic test from Peek A Baby is the Early Gender Blood Test.
This test requires a blood sample from the mother; following this, the fetal DNA can be identified and separated. This sample is then tested for the presence of Y chromosomes.
- If Y chromosomes are present = the sex of your baby is male
- If Y chromosomes is negative = the sex of your baby is female
It is important that for this test, you can confirm that you are 6 weeks pregnant or more. If you are less than 6 weeks pregnant, the test can be completed, but the accuracy reduces from 99.9%.
